Cheaper alternative to power antenna replacement?

I'm looking to replace my power antenna and looked on sites like hawks and have their rebuilds priced around $200 but I noticed on ebay these antennas that claim they are made for Trans Ams and more than 3X cheaper. Would these be a good alternative?

Re: Cheaper alternative to power antenna replacement?

Hey man, I have an 85 Camaro with that EXACT power antenna. Not from that ebay seller, but it is the SAME one. I guess there is one small difference, the antennae itself is black not chrome on mine. My concern initially was the overall length of the portion that sits inside of the fender. Mine fit no problem. If I was you and worried, I would contact that seller and ask for an overall measurement just to be absolutely sure it would fit your application. (Inside of the fender that is) Mine works like a charm going on 5 years or so. Hope that helps!
