What size and type of gauges fit my 86 Camaro? what has to be done to install them, do they plug right in?

What gauges do you want to put in? You will have to make a custom plate if you want them where your speedo and tach is. Are they going into a A-pillar pod? Would need to know the gauges in order to let you know what has to be done and it depends on what you do as you might be able to wire them into your harness.

Re: Aftermarket Gauges

Im looking at the classic thunder drilled gauge panel that has 2 3-3/8 gauge holes and 4 2-1/16 gauge holes and im looking at the auto meter phantom series gauges and getting speedo, tach, fuel, oil pressure, temp, and either boost or volt gauge

Re: Aftermarket Gauges

If you want to save some $$$ do your own panel as I did and it cost me arounf $35 to do it . Was pretty simple as all I did was use some MDF and then appoxied some mould plastic they use for hobby molds ( it matches the dash too ). Then took a hle saw and did the holes for the gauges

Re: Aftermarket Gauges

That looks sweet, what kind of wiring was involved or did it just plug right in?

Re: Aftermarket Gauges

To be honest I dont have a pic of the back at the moment by I will see if I have one on my CPU when I get home. Wiring was pretty simple and it tucks between the gauges pretty good
