third brake light issue.

Car: 92 Camaro rs ( mostly stock for now
Engine: 3.1 v6
Transmission: 700r4 with a b&m megashifter.
Axle/Gears: whatever came stock. wanna posi tho
third brake light issue.
replaced the fuse. no light. replaced the bulb no light. traced the wire, no defects. no light. wtf?

what about the brake light switch attached to the pedle? It might be the culprit as it might be stuck

The superfluous brake light (clown light) uses the same fuse as the normal brake lights use however it uses a separate contact on the brake light switch.
Using a fused jumper, jump the yellow wire to the orange wire at the switch.
If the clown light comes on your problem is a defective switch.
If the clown light still does not come on make sure there are no breaks in the run of the yellow wire.
Also check at the contacts at the lamp assembly.

Mine was out also.....the trunk lid where u close it and the moter that pulls it down beside it there there is a contact,and also on on the hatch there's a black thing that touchs the contact when the lid is closed,well one of the pieces was crack off making no contact so light won't work....check that...if u don't find it let me no and I will take a pic tomorrow and email it to you
