VATS intermittent failure gremlin
Hello everyone. My issue is dealing with my VATS anti-theft module on my '92 Firebird. My VATS system has been intermittently illuminating the "Security" light and requiring the 4 minute wait with the key removed before it will start. So far the bird re-starts every time after the initial failure and the 4 minute clock expires.
I have done the following things so far:
*Starter Position Switch
*Starter Relay
*Ignition Lock with Matching Key
I know how to bypass the resistor portion of the VATS but do you think this would even help the situation since it did this with the original lock and resistor key as well as now with the new lock and resistor key?
Would I have to replace the VATS module to fix this
major annoyance?
Thanks everyone!
