Error Code 22

I have a 92 Camaro RS Tpi (converted), 5 speed, just replaced all the fuel lines and ran new exhaust and headers. Everything runs great but I'm still getting error code 22: Throttle position sensor signal voltage low during idle or fuel cutoff relay circuit open or shorted to ground. All the wiring was replaced almost 3 years ago when I first got this error code (along with many others) and this is the only one that still remains. Can anyone provide me with any info on this or how I go about troubleshooting?

Much appreciated.

Re: Error Code 22

Look for a open or a ground in the grey wire ecm 5v ref or the blue wire the tps feedback to the ecm.

Search on this forum for setting tps voltage.
If this doesnt clear the code post back

Re: Error Code 22

I haven't gotten to test the voltage on the tps yet but my car drove like s*** today. The engine light came on as soon as I started it and the car idled really high (on my tach 3250 which is about 2500 normally). There was a delay a few times when I hit the gas pedal, and the engine cut out and stalled on my twice while driving. The only other symptoms I noticed were that it smelled really bad (something other than clutch) and all the gauges and everything were fine. I'm not sure if any other error codes popped up, but I have had this problem for years and this error code has always come up. Does this sound like a TPS issue or is it something maybe wrong with my fuel pump? I will test the TPS tomorrow and if anyone knows what the fuel pump should be reading, I will test that as well.

Thanks in advance

Re: Error Code 22

And by normally I mean on a proper working tach. Normal idle for my car when the tach was accurate was between 750 and 1000 rpm.

Re: Error Code 22

I went out this afternoon and adjusted the TPS. The original reading was 0.31 volts, it's reading now is 0.55, which is very close to what it should be. The ground and power in are also reading their correct values. I'm really hoping that this will be the end of all my issues, although I must say it is amazing what kind of damage one little sensor just slightly out of wack can do to everything else. Thanks everyone for the help and cross your fingers that this was it!

Re: Error Code 22

Code 22 is low tps voltage, our cars do not utilize a fuel cut off circuit.
If the adjustment hasnt corrected your problem try increasing the throttle in park with your voltmeter attached and watch the volts, at wot it should be higher than 3.0 V

During cranking tps voltage will result in clear flood mode (injector cut off).
Fuel cut based off the tuning parameters rpm or speed.

Re: Error Code 22

Good news is that my car is running better than ever, it seems that the tps was throwing everything off. One last question, my new gauges are coming in so I can actually set my idle to the correct rpm, will I then have to readjust the tps?

Re: Error Code 22

If you change the minimum idle speed stop screw yes readjust the tps.
