Third brake light
I have an 86 Trans Am. It has the third brake light mounted on top of the hatch on the outside. I have tested everything. It has a good ground . It has power all the way to the top of the hatch but once it gets to where the hole is in the glass it loses its connection. Now my question is has any one drilled the hole and redone the connection. Any ideas?

Re: Third brake light
What's the problem????brake light not working??Try this, pull down gently on this
this contact(spring) has a tendency to weaken over time, Most likely this is not making contact.

Re: Third brake light
Thank you for your response. I figured my problem out. But I was geting a power past those contacts. The wires run to each end of the hatch glass then then to the top of the glass. My third brake light had some play in it I had to jiggle it back and forth till it had a good connection.

Re: Third brake light
You might need to replace the two plastic mounting screws, they have the copper washer attached to complete the circuit.
