MSD 6al-2 Wiring help needed
So I wired up the MSD 6AL-2 programmable ignition box to everything as it said but the Hall effect pickup seems to be way off.... I have it wired to the 24X sensor there is three wires coming out of it, a red a green and a black wire I wired the black to a chassis ground the red to the ignition switch (12v) and the green to the white/blue hall trigger of the msd.

The issue is that the ignition system is thinking its at 9,600 rpms while the engine is at idle and its not allowing for any change in RPMS. When the carb. opens up it only increases air flow. there is a video on another thread here

any help as for whats wrong or why its acting this way would be very appreciated!
ideas for what could be wrong from myself:
1. the 24x sensor is triggering 24 times a revolution and is confusing the ignition box
2. the 24x sensor is not suppose to have 12V, but rather 5V?
3. I was never suppose to use the 24x sensor and should use something else? like the 3x somehow or the camshaft sensor????? or should I somehow use the EFI Dizzy to trigger the ignition box?
