Tried to add an 12V accessory...now car wont crank!

Help me out here guys...

1986 Camaro TPI, tried to add some aftermarket KC fogs in place of the sock one. Having trouble wiring it up in general but now i have a bigger issue...

Bought an add-on circuit jumper for the fuse panel, lights rewired a 3A signal wire, so tied it in with the 3A fuse labelled CRK,I'm assuming means Crank based on the problem I'm currently experiencing. Car started up but blew the 3A fuse for the lights, not the CRK fuse though. I let the car run for a bit cuz i wanted it at operating temp for some other stuff i was working on. I tried a larger fuse, 5A, labeled INST LPS. Went to go turn the car over, nothing.

I hear the fuel pump, the temp gauge jumps when i go to turn it over, the radio comes on, the lights work, everything but the engine. There is NOTHING.I checked all the fuses in the panel and then checked the 20A under the hood near the battery. All fuses are fine. I checked the ECM by swapping it with a spare that i have, still nothing.

Could i have blown the starter solenoid the first time i had it plugged in to the CRK fuse but it was enough to get the car going the first time and now its shot?

I was thinking about bump starting the starter to test it, or if i have to going to grab another starter. Is there a relay within the engine bay for the starter that i should check first? Any help would be fantastic, thanks guys!

It’s A Kroc

Use voltmeter or test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) to probe the wire going to the solenoid power input.

Make the wire long enuff to bring into the cockpit.

Now, when you try to crank, is there power?

If yes, the solenoid is bad.

Happy Racing!
