Wiper and cruise question
Ok, I just bought an '85 T/A, and the tilt column is pretty loose, the turn signal lever is electrical taped together, and the leather wheel is trashed. While at pull a part the other day I snagged a perfect non-tilt column with a really nice wheel out of an '85 Firebird. Score. Well the problem is the new column is that it's non cruise and non intermittent wiper. Can I just plug the new one in and go or am I going to have to mess with the intermittent box, Would it be easier to just buy a new lever for cruise and intermittent wipers? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Just buy a new cruise lever and install that instead..

Re: Wiper and cruise question
The quickest / easiest way to get working Intermittent wipers again is to buy a column with that option.... the second best way is to repair your original column. Adding Cruise control is not a big deal.
The intermittent feature is inside the column,...... as well as on the blinker lever. You can't simply install an intermittent blinker lever onto a non-intermittent column to get a working intermittent wiper system; it will not work.
The blinker wiring and plug *might* be something that can be pulled form the original column and installed into the replacement, but I'm not positive it will be Plug-&-Play. If your going to try it I'd suggest dismantling the original ( busted ) column first to try and get the intermittent wiper wiring parts out. If you can get them out - you might be able to get them installed into the replacement column.
On the other hand; a Cruise Control blinker lever installation is pretty easy - There's just a single wire that needs to be "snaked' thru the column.

Re: Wiper and cruise question
Actually my wipers work but not on the intermittent settings, just low, high and off. Also the cruise is gone from under the hood, which is actually fine with me so I was wondering if I could just go bare bones and just plug the new column into the car and go. Plus I'm not a big guy so no tilt was actually fine too.

The replacement column should connect to everything the same way the original did - your just not going to have the intermittent feature.
