Kinda stupid, but I did search and what I found prompted the question.

Which is, diagram shows LT Blue wiring, but mine are purple....
So
A: use to be blue and 20+yr aging = purple...lol
Or
B: GTA taillights are different from Firebird/Trans Am....

But the question, why do I have purple wires and does anyone actually have a diagram (not Haynes) for 87 GTA.

I've started going threw the car and I am finding, too many wiring pro mods (joke)

So I figure I ask

What's the purple wire! Lol

 

You might not be looking at the "exact" diagram for your car.

Does your GTA have a Digital Dash in it.......

My 88 GTA (Digital Dash) has Purple wires @ the tail light harness. The purple wire appears to feed power to the LH rear lights. The wires feeding the RH rear lights should be Brown/White. ( 88 Shop manual diagram shows them for DD GTA )

They connect to the Light Monitoring Module.

Yes its digital and I didn't even think that would effect it, but I guess it would (I know body harness different in some ways then non digital, but not sure how)

My question then would go a little further.
I have yellow and purple on LH,
Any ideal on the yellow, cause my first thought is that that would of been my hot in....but guess not if purple is.


Also, thank you for the compliment on the widebody, its slowly getting there. Should have a nice update after the weekend, so def check back in.

Isn't that always the way it goes. Dude; If was easy,.... everyone would be doing it ! I'll be checking on updates from time to time.

Looks like for the Digital Dash Trans AM / GTA the LH Yellow and the RH Dark Green are the turn signal wires.

** On Firebird with Digital Dash,..... LIGHT BLUE wires feeds all the Brake lights in the rear ! ( Maybe that's why your diagram was showing that color ! )
