Torque converter lockup blows dash fuse.

Hey guys, idk if this is the right section, maybe it should be in trans... but here's my problem. I decided to try out the torque converter lockup switch diagram that is on the site. I tested it with a simple wire shorting out terminals A and F in the obd slot. It was working fine as I was driving, and out of no where all my dash lights went out and it started beeping! Scared the hell outta me, I'm replacing the fuse tomorrow and hopefully that's all that blew, but I would still like to try this mod again. So my question is, what did I do wrong? Is there a deeper problem? Could I have blown the solenoid? Thanks for your help guys.
