Install 2nd ICM/Coil any tips check ground etc
I had code 42 in past, replaced coil then icm now stalled again replacing new icm and coil today
When I reinstalled the coil I did not reinstall the straps. I just bolted to that metal bracket with 1 bolt and little loose. I wonder if idled and vibrate loose could cause ground failure of ICM/Coil?
Either way I do not have the straps. what should I do to add safety to the ICM coil?
I will use arctic thermal paste
Should I run a ground strap from 1 of the ICM bolts to the firewall?
Should I do the same for the coil (will this effect the spark or short the icm if I ground both to the same point?)
Also maybe related.
Near the drivers side firewall where the fuel/maf relays are) I have an 88 lb9. I noticed there is a 2 thin black wire OEM ground strap bolted to the driver fender and routes under the brake master in its own wire bundle.
they looked a little beat up. Where do these ground to?
