fog lights with LED bulb to DRL the easy way
Thought I may share this, since I could not find any related information anywhere when I was looking.
Here is a very simple way to allow the fog lights to work independently from the park and/or driving lights.
This allows the fog lights to be used as manually controlled DRL.
This is on a 91 GTA, but the idea of using an "ignition ON, hot wire" to power the O.E. fog light switch should work on many other cars too.
On the right is the O.E. fog light switch, the braun (park and/or driving ON, positive wire)wire needs to be cut and spliced to a "ignition ON, hot wire".
Here in this case it is spliced to the defroster switch pink/black positive wire that stays hot with ignition/ON.
The black isolation tape is to isolate the wire that is no longer used.

Are you saying that because you have no fog lights?

when wired this way, do the fog lights turn off with the high beams? I wonder if a jumper could be used to connect the brown wire to the pink wire with the black stripe without isolating the brown wire

I have not tried it, but I'm sure the fogs will stay on if you do not turn them off.
Brown connected to pink, will probably cause short circuit.
