90 IROC Fuel Gauge Issue

I have heard this is a common issue with 3rd gen Camaro's. My IROC gas gauge is pinned over full. The issue is not with the gauge and most likely wiring from the fuel sender. I am considering cutting n access panel above the fuel pump, but was told there is somekind of junction box behind the driver front seat near the wheel well. Sounded like a block of some sort where the 3 wires enter the chassis and run along rockers to the dash? Does n e one have info on this or a photo of this block if it exists. Also, if the problem was with the sender ground, would not the fuel pump be disabled also as is the same ground? I think there may be a short somewhere in the brown wire and I would like to bypass if thats possible. I have been restoring my IROC and this is the last electrical issue I need to complete. I am a new member to the site, but have already gotten alot of helpful information from other member threads and would appreciate any other help. Thanks

Re: 90 IROC Fuel Gauge Issue

i had a problem where my guage needles were hanging on the sheetmetal part of the guage panel.i pulled the cover off the panel and freed the guage.unplug the wires at the sender and see if the guage goes to empty.

Re: 90 IROC Fuel Gauge Issue

Thanks Zen but not an issue with needle. Fixed the tach today with info found here relating to resistor bypass ............awesome. Now just need to get this gas gauge thing resolved. Does anyone have any other ideas?
