Wire From Alternator to Battery

Hello,

My 92 Camaro RS 305 is having an electrical charging issue. The problem is that, the battery continues to discharge. I can charge the battery completely and it will discharge before the end of the day. It is also discharging as I am driving. I've replaced the alternator, Starter, and Battery. As I was looking through the wiring, I've noticed that the red wire (I believe 4 guage) from the alternator to the battery is corroding near the battery terminal.

My questions are the following:

1. Can this be the reason behind my discharging issue.
2. Is there a special name for the wire so that I can replace the wire.
3. How hard is it to replace that wire, as I see that is goes through a lot of black tubing.

Re: Wire From Alternator to Battery

1. Possibly

2. Not sure on the name

3. Not hard, all that black tubing is just a mechanism for keeping everything neat and orderly.

Did you verify that all your electronics are off? dash light, radio, map lights, cargo light, everything?
