Hatch Stuck
Hatch Stuck
So I was trying to reach the fuel tank from the top, see if there was an opening made in the trunk space. Moved the plastics aside and the carpet, there wasn't one, so in the end I closed the hatch again. Previous owner once had someone try to break into the car through the hatch lock with a drill, drilled out the lock, so it's kinda ghetto-wired for now until I can find a replacement lock and install it. But fair enough (paid nearly nothing for the car anyways, all according to the condition of the car itself, blown engine and stuff like this), I held the wires together and the hatch was pulling itself down like I had gotten used to from it.. but then! The hatch got stuck on a piece of plastic which was supposed to hold the plastic cover in place under the opening in the chassis where the spare tire would go, instead it slipped in the way of the hatch. When I try to pull the hatch down further with the motor it'll make a low buzzing noise like it's working but won't pull it down any further, and it won't go up either since it's not fully down yet. Pushing the hatch won't help and since the hatch is almost entirely closed the plastic in front of the motor is also stuck under the hatch and can't remove it to access the lock or the motor. Any kind of tips or tricks you guys may have relevant to the situation? Thanks in advance!

Re: Hatch Stuck
With the help of a friend I lifted the hatch as far as possible while he pulled on the plastic cover from inside of the car, eventually after quite a hassle we got it out inbetween of the hatch and the pull down motor functioned properly again afterwards. Then made sure the covers were all nicely put and secured in place of course.
