ECU Questions
OK.
I will have some questions as I am leaning toward an ecu issue but before I go crazy with this.
The yellow box on the back, what does it actuall do? Wireing from that goes in dash and I was thinking maybe gauges?!
Reason I ask, is yesterday.
I had a no start but crank and fire +/run with fluid.
I noticed CEL flash.
So I shut down and went to pull code, at first didn't want to go into dio mode...so I tried a few more times.
It did and when it did I noticed the CEL flash in a dimming way...
Fusterated I smacked the side of the dash " now what"
CEL went into duo mode....
I said ....what!!!!
Dropped computer on floor and boom....started and ran.
Put back up...n nope....
So I dropped on floor and waited till today to see what it does (too fusterated and late)
As to day....no change...
No start but will run.
Tried tapping ecu to see if it would do anything....and it didn't immediately But did die shortly afterwards.... first its died out on own.
I wiggled some of the wires to see if that do anything but....not sure.
So question is...why did dropping it change anything (if itvwasnt a fluke)
But first....
What's the yellow box on back?!
Or
Other then tapping what's a correct way to test

Sounds to me like there is a connectivity issue with the ECM that goes away when it's dropped. I'm not sure what the CEL light is though
I'm guessing you're talking about the small yellow box next to the ECM (should have I think 6 wires)? That's your VSS buffer, it converts and splits the signal from for VSS to a signal for your speedo and signal for the ECM. This should have no effect on the cranking of your vehicle

CEL is just checkn engine light.
Odd to flash and dim out, could be power issue or ecu I was thinking.
