Light Harness Help Please
Hi Guys,
I'm still trying to repair the wiring mess in my 87 IROC and need some help with my light harness now.
Although its not in bad shape there are just a couple of things I cannot work out; (I cannot understand wiring diagrams
)
1. Can anyone tell me what this connector is for? It connects (i Think) to the harness coming along the chassis rail near the fuel lines?
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/atta...1&d=1401910746
2. I found these two wires just cut, are they supposed to be grounds? or do the connect somewhere else?
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/atta...1&d=1401910747
Thanks for taking the time to look
Kyle

Ok so on further inspection tonight the 2 cut wires in picture 2 are what appear to be grey wires. The are the four return wires from the front turn signal and marker lights that then splice four into two wires that you see cut.
Can anyone help where these are supposed to go? Do they just ground out or are they supposed to connect anywhere?
Thanks
Kyle

Black/green connector in first pic is for fog lights, looks like you don't have any from your avatar. Second pic looks like grounds, but I cant be sure from the way the harness is laid out and not in the car. There should be a ground on either side of the radiator screwed into the core support.

Re: Light Harness Help Please
Thanks Joe,
I do have fog lights they are just in a box in the garage at the mo lol!?
I am tryting to repair a small engine bay fire and subsequent wiring hack job by some PO. I pulled the IROC out of a barn where she had been sat since 2007 so she was in a real mess but we are getting there.
Trouble is im not very good at wiring and I cannot understand the schematics in the HELM manuals I have got.
Is it correct that the fog light connector plugs in to the connector coming from the harness that runs along the chassis rail near where the carbon canister should be?
I guess this is a trigger wire for the rear fog lights as well then? (do american cars have these like we do in the UK....just a thought as I havent checked yet!)
With regard to picture two, sorry its not clear but all my looms are out of the car and in boxes
. I have taken all the sheething off this one to check for any unseen damage. Lucky I did as this was the only way I found my horn wires!
I do have 2 grounds somewhere near the centre of the loom already. As I said before thre are 4 grey wires that return from the side markers and turn signals they are spilced the four wires into two but then are cut where you see them. This junction in the picture is where the driver side light wiring all meets and goes back towards the C100 connector (you can just see the fog light connector at the bottom of the picture)
Thanks for taking the time to look and help me out though. There is no-one around here that has any clue about these cars so I am kinda relying on on-line help
Thanks again and have a great day
