wiring questions

having a bit of an issue with the wiring in my car. just picked it up a couple weeks ago and havent been able to drive it.

heres what i have so far.

when i plug in the gauges. nothing works. my radio will shut off the buzzer stops working. i tore the dash out and checked out the wiring harness and dont seem to have any shorts anywhere. so im thinking that theres something wrong with the actual instrument cluster.

my interior lights dont work and im not sure exactly why. all fuses are good. where would be the first place to look.

and last but not least, the car didnt have a/c compressor when i got it and the heater core is gone, so i went ahead and took the heater box out of the engine bay to make more room. what wiring can i get rid of under the dash to clean it up under there?

the car came with a v6 and has a 305 carbed swap so i took out anything having to do with the computer out of the car as well, so what underdash wiring can i get rid of from that too?

i know its alot for one post, just looking for some help

You might be disturbing other connectors.

Using a voltmeter or test light
(the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) probe the INST LPS fuse, when the radio is not working.

Do you get power to BOTH side of the fuse?

You can skip this step and reply YES if the Hatch Release works.

Happy Racing !

When you see fog or “running” lights on in good weather beware. WLow performance driver ahead.
