After searching for hours for just the wires that lead to the tank on my trans am(It's not in front of the differential like later cars ) I was able to test the gauge by jumping the connecter. So I have decided I need a new sending unit. Although I'm having a tough time finding exactly what I need. I don't want to buy the wrong part and have to worry about any modification, I would love to drop it in and go, due to my limited mechanical knowledge at this point lol. So does anyone have an idea of the exact part and number for a sending unit that would fit a 1983 v8 carbed Trans Am? I've been digging around for a long time and haven't found a rock solid answer yet.

If I don't end up finding anything I can just drop the tank and figure out what it is and go from there, but I'm trying to find the part I need so I can have it ready to swap in when I do drop the tank.
