bad wiring to fuel pump
bad wiring to fuel pump
hey guys i have a 1989 2.8L firebird, my fuel pump works, i know this because when i hot wire it to the battery it turns on.... ive replaced and checked the relay, i have also replaced the oil pressure sending unit... at one point i had rats living in the hood of the car and i believe they got to some wires that i just cant seem to find where they got chewed them at....my question to you guys is that would it be worth the trouble of just re wiring that entire fuel pump circuit or just try to find the grounded out portions some how.(im not worried about keeping it super original, just want the thing to run) like i said the fuel pump works and the engine starts when i bypass all the wiring to the fuel pump. just want to know if its worth the trouble of re-wiring the fuel pump ciruit... also if some one could post a wiring diagram of the fuel pump circuit ( including the wires from the oil pressure sending unit and ECM) me and my dad have traversed the internet looking for one but to no avail, we have the book with the main wiring diagram inside but it doesn't show the wires going to the ECM or what we believe is the ground... this is the last thing before the car is done and its driving me up a wall PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Just going to have to trace the wires and find the problem. Rewiring would not be that hard especially if you knew the bad area and could splice into the good portion.
