I have an 82 trans am with a 305 motor. I just put another 600 edelbrock on yesterday, it had a 600 holley. After having problems starting the car with the new carb, I ended up having to replace the fuel pump. But now, even after tuning the carb, I'm having other issues. Sometimes, when I turn the key for the ignition, nothing happens. My check engine light comes on as usual, but the engine does nothing. I replaced the starter not long ago and its still good. Other times, my car cranks fine. Could this be a wiring issue? If so, any ideas on how to solve it?

 

possibly a bad park/neutral switch. try messing with the shifter when it doesn't crank.
