Dakota Digital in 84'-86' Berlinetta?
Can Dakota Digital gauges for 82'-89' be used in 84'-86' Berlinetta's with the digital clusters?
http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd168.htm
Iv'e searched all over this site and others and no luck on finding anything.
I bring up this question as I'm getting sick of replacing the finicky OEM ones and awhile ago I saw an 84 Berlinetta on Ebay with after market digital gauges! Asked the seller if he could give me any info on them and was told it came from Nordskog, which looks similar in style as the Dakota gauges.
Any help is appreciated!
Picture attached is from the listing.

Re: Dakota Digital in 84'-86' Berlinetta?
I can't say for sure but I do know that the cavity and cluster interface (Berlinetta 84-86) are different than '82-'89 Camaros. They are shaped more like the 91-92 clusters, I said more like but probably not interchangeable. I would contact Nordskog and Digital and ask if they offer, or ever did offer 1984-1986 Berlinetta specific clusters. The pic you posted looks really nice though.
If not, I'm assuming it would end up being some kind of custom job and might work best if you had a spare Berlinetta cluster housing to fit the Dakota into. The 84-86 Berlinetta speedometer input is also electronic and not mechanical of the same years (82-89).
You might come out ahead getting a Dakota for a 91-92 Camaro and modifying that since it also has the electronic speedometer, but the specific signals may not match, so you may have to look into swapping the sensor on the transmission to a 91-92 as well. That's not mentioning having to match the pins on the cluster interface so everything is hooked up properly. (Thinking out loud here)
I saw this floating around too. But at that point you could buy almost anything and make your own.
