88 Iroc cooling fans

Just bought a 88 iroc and the kid I got it from said the fans dont work. I noticed he has hooked up a aftermarket manual temp gauge. The factory temp gauge and oil pressure gauge along with the tach do not work.
I would like to get all the stock gauges working again if possible? Where should I start to troubleshoot the fans. The fuse IS good.
Thanks.. Dave

To find which half on the fan circuit is bad jump pin B to ground on the ALDL.

The ALDL is located at the Fuse Block which is located up and to the left of the brake pedal, behind a small door.

When you ground it the fan relay should energize.

The Fan Relay is to the left of the Brake Booster.

It’s the relay nearest the left fender.

If the fan(s) run when you do that you will know that half of the circuit is good.

If the relay doesn’t energize by itself when the engine is hot you can test and replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor.

The CTS for the ECM is in the intake manifold most VINS.

Happy Racing !
