Alternator Troubles
i got my new project fired up yesterday (1987 gta tpi 5.7) and found out today the alternator does not seem to be working ... my question is, is there anything coming from the steering column (starter switch) that would turn on the alternator ... asking because i still have some cut wires under there and everything else seems to work (but the fan that has had an aftermarket switch installed and cut out) dont have a multi-meter right now, mine is broken ... dont want to take it out til i know if a wire under the dash could be the problem

Re: Alternator Troubles
Find out if the alternator wiring has the correct voltages.
The heavier red wire goes from a Fusible Link, to the positive stud, and should have power at all times.
The thinner red wire goes from a different Fusible Link, to terminal S (the sensing circuit) and should have power at all times.
The brown wire goes to terminal F (the turn-on input) from the FAN fuse, and should have power when the key is in the RUN position.
