Ignition Wires to Start
Hey folks.
Quick question: I'm working on doing some rewiring in my '86 Firebird, and I need to figure out essentially how to hot wire the car. I've been looking at the circuit diagrams in my Haynes manual, and I'm still scratching my head. It seems to only be a one-way run from the ignition switch to the starter, through the gear selector switch.
Simply, I need to know which wires need to be connected to first enable Accessory mode, and then which wire to touch to start the car.
Thanks.

C100 A4 powers ignition switch, from starter lug through a fusible link.

or give 12v to the starter lug that has the purple wire to start engine.

Re: Ignition Wires to Start
Thanks for the info. It's appreciated.
I'm no electrician, so I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying I should be clipping the red wire connected to A4 and jumping it to the purple wire?
Those diagrams seem helpful, but I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at. Especially since '86 is a bit difficult to read. It seems to indicate that the purple wires are either for the wiper/washer system or the turn signals and parking lights.
