My 92 tbi 305 auto trans is messing up. Went to Walmart came out and the car wouldn't start . First thought is alternator .. jump the car.. limp home.. next day alternator comes off and auto zone tests it .. it pass's 3 times in a row . They switch it out anyways and test that one and it passed alternator goes back on .. I do a alternator check with a battery charger and it says alternator bad or engine not running which the engine was running . Battery is 6 months old .. where would you start ?

 

i would check the fuses ... when i started up my gta for the first time i had no charge ... one fuse was gone out of the box, and it was the one to turn on the alt for charging

 

Fixed it .. I just ran a wire from the alternator output to the positive terminal on the battery .
