My trunk defroster switch keeps turning back.
I had a problem where my third brake light wasn't working. It turns out the connector next to the trunk latch that sends power to the four plates came loose. I plugged that in and solved my brake light problem but now my defroster keeps turning on. I press the off button and a few seconds later it clicks back on, sometimes it isn't even a few seconds.
The day before I also was fiddling around with the dash speakers to replace my old one and possibly replace the whole plastic trim around the gauges and dials while I was at it (I got another one from the junk yard). I couldn't get the trim off after some tugging and pulling so maybe the connection to the switch came loose? I probably answered my own question but maybe someone else knows, plus I already typed this out.
Assuming the switch is loose, what trim pieces would I have to remove in order to cleanly remove the aforementioned trim so I don't end up removing more than I have to?

The circuit board of the defog switch might be dirty.
This can lead to the switches’ isolation being compromised.
You can try to open and clean the board with a contact cleaner sold at electronic parts stores.
You can also use CRC Brakleen, just keep it away from plastic, as it might mar or soften them.
