no electronic signal to distributor

i have a 1986 pontiac firebird base. it has a 305 5.0 v8, that uses a 4bbl carb. the car wont start, and i have gone to the conclusion that the distributor does not get any electrical signal. i have checked my fuseable links, changed my coil, changed my computer and nothing has changed. please help!

Re: no electronic signal to distributor

CCC HEI only needs 12v power to it to spark-the 4-wire plug to ECM harness only controls spark advance-if it is getting 12v feed and coil is new/good,pretty much leaves a bad pickup coil or ignition module as probable cause of no spark-bad ICM much more likely than bad pickup coil.
