Axle/Gears: 3:73 Posi
keep timing connection unplugged

I recently tried to time my car with 305 tuned port engine and after I dissconnected the timing wire and set the timing I reconnected the timing wire which is tan and white the car reset it self back. My question is can I run the car with the timing connection unplugged she run much better that way.
