Getting power to coil but not from it.
Hey there, first post from my new account after being locked out of my last one.
I have an 88 Iroc Convertible with a 350 TPI. This car has me utterly stumped. When out of the car, the motor ran completely fine. Dropped it in, wired it up and now it has no spark whatsoever.
It has a new coil (x2), new module (grease applied), new pick up coil, new electronic spark coil, new plugs and new wires.
I get power to the coil but not from the coil. I've bought 2 brand new coils so I'm convinced they aren't defective. Is there something on the inside of the car that would keep it from sparking? I've only found one thing unplugged and that was a one pronged connector with a white and an orange wire coming from it. This car also does not have VATS. Any help would be appreciated and if this is in the wrong section, I apologize.
Thanks in advance!

Any engine codes?
Do you have a spark tester?
You tested from the coil to the dizzy?
Factory coil?

Spark tester shows no spark on any plug or wire for that matter.
Coil to distributor shows nothing at all.
Factory coil was pulled and replaced with a brand new masterpro and then a brand new one after that with the fear that the first one might have been defective out of the box.
I'm getting power to the coil, but power is not coming from the coil to the distributor. I was told maybe it's the Neutral Saftey Switch????
So I bypassed it and still nothing.

Did you check the ground wire for the dizzy? Also the ground strap from the engine to the firewall?

To check for codes, run a paper clip from the A to B terminal.
Turn the ignition on (but not starting) and watch the check engine light.
It should flash a code 12(for a SD car anyway), (code 12 is normal - no reference pulse which means the ecm is working properly)
After that, it would flash a code

Checked both, nothing out of the ordinary there. Found that the white wire that runs to the distributor (tach?) had been cut so I wired it back up, no change. Been through everything twice now it seems.
