I just got this car recently. The end of the starter wire was clamped to the positive terminal along with the lug in the picture. It seemed to work, but I would like it to be less...rigged.
Is that lug OEM? What is this supposed to look like? What is the black plastic thing?

If I could see a picture of what someone's battery connections look like (especially the wires going to the alternator), that would be awesome!
