Looking under the hood of my friends 1983 Daytona 500, we saw these two connectors unplugged. Pics below. What is the thing they look like they plug into? should we plug them back in?

Cruise

Which is of course the carb-colored thing with the vac lines (one of which is unplugged)and speedo cables right next to them

As to "why", it involves a human; and those things (humans) are beyond (below) rationality. There is no "why". The human probably thought that it was "improving" something by hacking on it, as they so often do.

As far as "should", the cruise probably won't work anyway; but it for sure won't work with all that stuff unplugged.

We plugged it in. Nothing happened. Well, the check engine light went off, but that might be unrelated. Go trans ams
