no ignition - 89 firebird 5.7 gta
no ignition - 89 firebird 5.7 gta
replaced pickup coil because it tested at 0 ohms. no luck.
replaced ignition control module.
no spark out of coil
with a screwdriver in the coil wire
held near the back wall ground screw
12v to coil pink wire (coil is separate, not on-the-cap style coil)
distrib has 2 connectors, one with 4 wires (one is pink) and one with 2 wires (black and brown)
There's no voltage to any of those distrib wires with ignition on.
Should there be?
Any clue where to start would be very helpful.
Thanks.

There should be 12v to the pink wires. If its a remote coil, the power wire that goes to the coil also goes to the HEI module and needs 12v.
