A/C question!!

Has anyone installed a on/off switch for their A/C so it works like the newer cars? I would like to turn on my Defroster and etc. on and slide the lever to cool without the Compressor kicking in. I mean it's not like I need the A/C running during the winter.

Yep, that'll work. Simply cut one of the wires and install a switch in the circuit. May wanna look at the wiring diagram, you might be able to run a wire to a switch, and them simply to ground. (I don't remember how it all operates, and don't have my service manual with me.......)
