Help with pop up headlights!!!!!

Hi. My left side headlight will raise, but will not lower unless I manually crank it down. Does this sound like an electrical problem or does it probably need rebuilt? It is a 1986 Trans-Am with a little over 100,000 miles and never driven in winter with very little night time driving. Thanks!!

Likely the little plastic discs in the motor housing need to be replaced. You can get them from top-downsolutions or make your own. I bought a foot of 1/2 inch Delrin and cut pieces off to make the discs. Need a little sanding to fit but cost almost nothing. Do both sides while you're at it.

Even if there is no motor noise? The driver side doesn't try to close or anything.....but it manually goes down very easy.....that is why I was hoping it was an electrical problem??? Going to look at it tomorrow. Thanks Base91!
