Brake Warning light Question

I am just finished doing a 350 swap on an 85 Z28. I did some work on the brakes, bleed them (rp,rd, fp, fd) and set the emergency brake. The brake warning light came on after I set the emergency brake. The light stays on when the emergency brake handle is down, so you can drive. when I park it and brake handle up the light goes out. Does them mean the emergency brakes are not completely releasing?

A Walk In The Park

If the parking brakes were not releasing you would overheat them.

If you’re vehicle aware you hear and/or smell and/or feel them.

Therefore most likely the light is not operating the way it’s supposed to.

From your description it is doing the opposite of normal.

Check the wire going to the parking brake.

Temporarily disconnect it from the parking brake handle.

When you do that does the light go out?
