tpi to carb cause other problems

Car: 1987 Z28 Vert.
Engine: LG4: ENGINE, GAS, 8 CYL, 5.0L, 4BBL
Transmission: MD8: 4 SPEED AUTO THM700R4
Axle/Gears: GU2: AXLE, REAR 2.73 RATIO
tpi to carb cause other problems
To make a long story short I gave my daughter a 1987 IROC z28 convertible
when she turned 16.She kept it inside a garage. Enter pet squirrel. Chewed wiring harness under hood. Car was 305 TPI. her husband couldn't find wiring harness for TPI so they changed intake and added carb., also had motor
completely rebuilt., and body sanded down to metal and repainted. Got divorced in 2013 moved to FL, she brought car back to me. Now I am putting everything back to working. Now for the question. Would the rewiring/converting keep the rear hatch from working. The wiring looks like a Chinese jig saw puzzle and looks like 2 different trailer hook ups were installed
at some time before I got the car. The motor and solenoid wires are all disconnected, I think by reading all the post about the hatch I can re-wire and have got most of the replacement parts to repair, if there isn't a problem if/if not it will still be functional. BTW the hatch was working when I gave it to her in 2000.I have done some checks and have +12 volts at the red/white and have power to the white connector with brown, orange/white/blue.No power on solenoid wire but I really don't know how/where/when it gets activated.
