SO, I bought a set of the red gauges from ebay there's a guy that refurbs them and sells them for $220. Better than the price from the store of $400-$500. So,....here's the issue. When you get the package there is a dark plastic cover that replaces the factory clear plastic, a set of screws and spacers and a photocopied instruction booklet containing 7 pages of vagueness. It tells you to take your cluster out and then to connect the wires from the rear of their digital board to the circuits on your white bezel of your cluster. So far I have taken the gauges out and then each section removed from the bezel also there are three pieces to take out, next you are supposed to use the long spacers (4) to mount the digital board and new smoked plexi to the white bezel at the bottom, then (3) to the top however the 3 at the top don't line up correctly.....issue number 1. Then there are no holes to run all these wires through......issue number 2, how do you connect the wires to the car.....issue number 3. THEN, there's a hardwired push button for eta of 0 to 60, 1/8 mile/ and 1/4 mile and calibration..... issue number 4.
I've searched all over the net and no one shows how to route or connect these units to a 91-92. the 82-90 models use spade connectors which is far easier. But there's no videos showing how to hook up the 91-92 model. Only already installed videos. Everyone keep saying direct drop in however that;s very untrue bc 5 hours to install isn't drop in. And to show you they are lazy....the company offers a free gauge if you post a video on youtube tagging them. a single gauge.... You call tech support and no answer....But I will be making a how to once I get the info to mine bc we need help. If theres anyone that can shed light so I can make a video of how to install these gauges I'd appreciate it.
