radio wiring nightmare

Transmission: 700r4 stock?
Axle/Gears: peg leg one tire fire
radio wiring nightmare

so in the process of installing a newer radio, the previous owner installed an after market radio with wrong color wire leads. anyone reccomend a way to clean up this wiring a bit? never installed a radio before.. also I noticed a orange and white wire hanging below my dash on the passenger side.. what wite does this go to? thanks

Those wires look like the correct colours for an aftermarket radio, I don't follow what you mean by the wrong wire colours.

There are diagrams in the car audio section of this site that should help you repair this.

I would suggest getting a repair harness from a local car audio shop to put it back to factory and then use a harness adapter to attach the new radio. I suggest this because it's common for people to want to upgrade as more features become available on new radios or as system upgrades dictate a new radio is needed. Much easier to use an adapter each time than cutting the wires shorter each time.

Six gave you some good advice. Metra makes both harnesses for about $15 a piece.

I would go to a junk yard, cut a radio connector off a newer GM car, get some Micro-Pack 100 series terminals, crimp them onto the stock wires, remove the old terminals from the junk yard connector, and put the newly crimped terminals into the connector.
