LED Bars as Headlights
Has anyone heard using led bars as headlights in place of the stock housings? I realize it may not be strictly legal but I'm just curious. With all the talk of HIDs and H4s to make the headlights better I'm wondering if there is another solution. I know you can buy ones that are directional so they could be aimed...

As far as I know Oracle is the only company producing legal 4x6 led headlights at this time, but there are other companies out there selling them. As for light bars I would think you would be just asking for trouble.

Found some off brand ones for a lot less, but idk about the quality. It would be pretty cool though.

They make a semi sealed beam now that looks just like a factory style sealed beam, yet you can use H4 bulbs in it so you don't have to replace the entire housing. And the nice thing about that is that you can use an LED H4 bulb that will plug and play no problem if you don't want your headlights to look different like the full on LED ones posted above. Plus, the LED H4 bulbs are brighter than a bunch of LED diodes crammed into a housing. I went through all of this with my truck.
Heres the housings that I bought:

I messaged the seller, they get the housings with the halogen H4 bulbs so nothing you can do about that but throw them away and put these in it:

Thats what I'm doing with my car, just waiting for them to get here, but after playing around with a bunch of different LED options for my Silverado, I can tell you that going this route is the best option, they will be the brightest and have the best light dispersement across the road, but be ready to be getting high beamed a lot from oncoming drivers because lights like these are BRIGHT!
Hope that helps.

Thanks man, I will definitely look into that more. My only concern would be if its bad for other drivers. Is it in their eyes due to the brightness or because the LEDs just throw light all over the place? I could do it for the high beams only but that loses some cool factor.

When I talk to people about it they just complain about the intensity of the light, 6000k or 6500k thats pure white or slightly blue compared to the yellow light of halogens that everyones used to.
