Hi! I recently bought a 87 trans to enjoy with my father for we love the car and he has stage 4 terminal cancer, Wanted to restore it then have him drive it around with it in nice shape. It is a 87 Trans am Digital Dash, The Computer where the Mileage is stopped working not even a week after I go it, it does not display anything at all.. Any Idea's on how to fix it?

The Speedometer is around 8 off in the city and 15 off on the highway. When I got it it had racing slicks on it, I spent the last of my money at the time to get the factory rims with new tires on it! : ) I am not sure if it was re configured for the racing slicks or changed the gearing in the trans?

One Head light does not pop up the other does half of the time, ( I have read on here about the Relays, the wires, and the repair bushing kits I will try it, thanks! )

The Coolant light is always on, the Rad Fans are turned on by the heater on button on the inside of the car they are wired together. Guessing I need to replace the Coolant switch and the Coolant Sensor?

The Windshield washer pumps did not work so thanks to you guys, I put in a new motor and unclogged the hoses it still didn't work, I noticed a small hole in the inside of the top of reservoir cap auto zone doesn't carry it so I'll order the cap online : )

Any idea's on where to get cheap window weather stripping? and cheap Tran's am stickers near the front tires? And a cheap hood? This one is a bit shot.

So far I have replaced the Rad, the heater core, put in a kill switch to the steering wheel since the Battery kept draining. Brand new Battery, put in new door locks, all of the hoses were garden hoses replaced those, I have fixed the cracks in the dash, and redid the head liner since it was falling and am currently installing racing seats since the ones now are so torn.. any ideas where to find cheap harnesses-es? and cheap back seats? and a cheap Spoiler?

For the speedometer issue: You should be able to determine your rear end ratio (various methods, one being to count number of turns of driveshaft to spin the wheels one rotation) and compare it to your RPO code, or just pop the speedo out of the trans housing and check the color of the two gears. Most likely the rear end has been swapped, and you will either need to get a different speedo gear or install one of the conversion boxes.

For the windshield washer pump, does it try to run or is there just nothing when you hit the button?

 

Sorry to hear about your father. Dont know if the rear seats out of a 91 IROCK will fit your car or not, but if they will you can have both of mine. I am in Tenn., and I dont know where you are but we could work something out Im sure. My car had a rear spoiler on it, which I removed and your welcome to it too, if youd like it.
Just need your location. And I'll ship them as soon as funds permit.

 

there is a thread on here about window sweeps from a 4th gen if that's what you mean by window weather stripping, if your talking around the door jam then no don't know of a cheap option other than summit or other outlet. The window sweep though from a fourth gen look good imo and take little work to fit into the third gens. usually you can get them at a u pull it junk yard for under $10 for the pair. For the stickers I would talk to a local vinyl shop usually you can bring them a jpeg and they can make what ever you want.
