I'm trying to convert what I believe is a 1987 Camaro Automatic V6 harness to plug into my dash harness. Should be plug and play, right? Not so. I have 2 wires in the engine harness I have no idea what they're for in the C207 by the ECM. This is going into a manual trans car with trans mounted VSS. Already have tucked wires for the reverse switch and VSS into harness and will be adding relevant connectors shortly as well as converting IAC and TPS connectors over to 3.1 connectors.

B: Solid orange wire. Runs to fuel pump relay connector. ALDL G? Thought that was red?
G: Black wire with TWO red stripes. Have no idea where this thing goes. Yes, it's 2 red stripes, one on either side of the wire. Only wire I can think of that's black and red that is 18 gauge is the reference pulse ground wire for the distributor but that only has one stripe. Other wire that is that color is the fat one for the coolant fan.

B needs to go in favor of one of the fuel injector power wires. G needs to go for same purpose. Trying to delete the 6 cavity, 3 terminal C221 connector that has the fuel injector and fan relay/alternator sensing tan/white wires in it since dash harness does not have said connector and I don't have the connector body for these terminals. Everything needs to go into the C207.

Sometimes a wire will change from one side of a connector pack to another. ( I seem to remember this was the case for BI injector wires on later cars ?? ) The only way to BE SURE about each end every wire is to trace that circuit using the factory shop manual schematics. ( and even those are not 100% accurate sometimes ! )
