A/F Gauges
Looking to install a wideband A/F gauge so I can play with nitrous.
Two questions:
Anyone using innovate gauges/ data logger?
Can I get by with one sensor in the Y-pipe, or do I need to run a sensor in each collector for each bank?
10.2:1 comp ratio 305, warmed cam, edelbrock dual plane- holley 1850- shorty headers to 3.5" single pipe- dumps out the rocker mid-vehicle.
Thanks

Re: A/F Gauges
I'm using the Innovate data logger and another brand of A/F gauge. That means that the single O2 sensor I have has be to disconnected from the gauge and connected to the data logger.
With the Innovate gauge, data logging can be done with both devices connected to a single sensor.
For all intents and purposes, either set up will work just fine. While there may be slight difference in A/F ratio between one bank of cylinders and the other, I haven't found it to be an issue in tuning. I had at one point the O2 sensor installed in the opposite header and my data is pretty much the same.

Re: A/F Gauges
I just started using the MTX-L for tuning with my carb. It works great with the O2 sensor in one header collector.
I haven't tried the data logging output.

So is the wideband sensor in the location on the header as the O2 sensor?

Re: A/F Gauges
I am using the innovate gauge/kit. So far so good running my ecm from it. I dont have the gauge installed yet but it will do both. I have the LC2.

Re: A/F Gauges
I have the LC2 Sensor hooked to my ecm and it's worked out great. Ideally you want the sensor to be as close to or in the header/manifold collector as possible especially if it is not a heated sensor. If you have a carb then just putting one in one of the header collectors will be fine. If you have efi running one in each collector can be very useful. You can use it if you have a fuel/spark problem to easily see which side of the engine it's on and if it's a rich or lean issue.
