Injectors pulses sporadically

I have been searching the forums and Google for days. Asking for any help with this plz .

I replaced the fuel pump, ignition coil module, pickup coil, distributor, rotary button, fuel pump relay and spark plug wires. It now has an entire new distributor assembly.

Still a no start condition. The car will fire when I spray starting fluid in the throttle body, and the injectors will pulse randomly. It will try to run for a few seconds with the random pulses but then dies again, until you spray some more starting fluid in it. You can keep repeating this scenario.

Thank you for any advice

Hello, and welcome to TGO! You should fill in your profile information so we can have a better idea of what vehicle we are helping you figure out (year, make, model, drivetrain, etc.). Or include that info in your question.

Have you checked what your fuel pressure is? When you say pulse sporadically do you mean sometimes it runs? Or how do you know they are pulsing sporadically?

Re: Injectors pulses sporadically

Sorry. I will do that . But I did find out something, which is very odd to me. If you sit on the back bumper, the car runs fine. It doesn't misfire or anything, when I get off the bumper, it stalls, misfires, then dies, lol. It now has me confused. Fuel pressure seems to be okay considering how it runs perfect as long as you are sitting on the bumper.

It runs now, but dies when I sit in the driver's seat

Swap the bumper and the driver's seat. .....

Sounds like a fuel pickup issue. Are you sure you installed the pump correctly? Did you tighten the hose clamps? Are you sure you didn't knock the fuel pump pick up off the pump when sticking it back in the tank?

Re: Injectors pulses sporadically

I got new seats and a bumper , jk. But I noticed that when I pulled on the wire harness, below the distributor, it ran just fine. So for now, to get me by, I am using a tool to hold the harness in place to keep tension, sooooo I have a short somewhere. Wanted to make sure I followed up on here so maybe someone else can use this information if they need to. Once I dig further into the broken or shorted wire, I will post updated results.
