Ok I have a problem with my Iroc I don't drive it much anymore and I went to drive it the other night and it was dusk and I went to turn the parking lights and fog lights on and the radio went out and the parking lights didn't come on?? So I drove straight home. When I pulled in the garage I realize I didnt have no interior power radio, power windows, hatch popper switch, no headlights/taillights, courtesy lights, or dash lights. Now I googled searches and it seems there's other people who have had the same problem but nobody has ever solved the problem maybe they have and just never updated their post??? I have checked all the fuses like 3x I've pulled the headlight switch and it's wierd cuz when I unplug the switch the dome light comes on so I figured it was the switch I bought a new one still the same results nothing. Then I waited a couple of days go back out and pulled the switch out and everything works. So I drove it to work and on the way out I turned the headlights on they came on and then they went out I went to pull over and then they came back on so I drove it for 2 more days and no problems. I pulled it out today to take the kids for ice cream and all of a sudden the radio died the radio was already on since I started the car. And once the radio goes that's the sign everything else is gone. I don't know what it is or could be to work when they want and go out whenever. PLEASE HELP I'd like to drive the car more and just not in daylight lol.

 

I also need some help,I have a 83 camaro and dash lights don't work, also running lights only come on with headlights switch fully on? Any help would be great

 

Sounds like a fusible link.

They're down at the starter. They are the fuses connecting the entire car to the battery. There's probably 2 of them; one is bad, which is why about half the car quits working.

 

I thought of those to but figured if they where burned out the lights shouldn't come back on correct?? I did pull on them and they seem good???

 

Ok did some more digging and there's no power at the ACC fuse any ideas???

 

I had that happen with the lights turning on and off, turned out to be an overload from my heater/choke relay on an 83, also have heard this happens when there is a short or ground not grounding properly.

 

Ok figured it out the wire burned out at the junction box on the firewall... just posting in case somebody else has this problem. Glad to ba able to drive at night again!!!!!
