Oil Pressure Gauge

I have an 88 irocz28 that is a 305 tpi. When I bought the car my oil pressure gauge was not working. I was told that the oil pressure sender that screws in by the oil filter controls the gauge. I swapped the sender out and it still does not work. Does the bell shaped sender by the distributor control the gauge? Or is there any way to test the wires to see if it works? Is there a voltage range for the gauge/sender?

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge

Thanks! I replaced the one by the oil filter, and rewired a plug, I was wondering if I just plain wired it wrong. Upon further inspection, the belk shaped one is coated in oil. This helps a lot, thanks
