Anyone know what the heck this plug is for,traced pink wire back to passenger
side harness. 1 black 1 pink wire in and out. Must have something to do with
the air induction hood. 1983 Trans Am 305 HO.
Pink/blk = gauge fuse (ECM uses that for lots of stuff)
Blk = ground
There's a "mystery plug" in ALOT of cars like that. While I don't know, never worked in an assembly plant although I've been in quite a few, I suspect that it had something to do with mfg... for example, the ability to power the harness and whatever was connected to it ATM, without having to have it in a car with a batt and all that. For production-line testing as an example.
Just a guess though. But since there are SO MANY people who ask this, and have been asking for DECADES, must be a pretty common connector, and not hooked up to anything in ANYBODY's car. Not everything you see in a car has to be related to anything that happens AFTER it leaves the factory you know.
