ignition switch

i'm installing my new ignition switch but the actuator rod is pointing up and the hole in the switch when mounted is pointing sideways. am i missing something obvious?

in the pic you can see the tip of the rod sticking up vertical. the view is looking straight down the steering column with the wheel dropped. i need to rotate it to the right to get it to interface with the switch.

Re: ignition switch

Iirc the rod is correct. The rod inserts into the hole on the ignition switch from the bottom not the side.

Re: ignition switch

Are you sure you don't have the switch installed backwards?

See attached.

Re: ignition switch

i'm not sure about anything right now but the mount holes determine where it goes so i don't see how i can install it backwards. it mounts right on the very top of the column with the screws to the left. i don't see how the rod fits underneath though. didn't have a chance to look at it again today will do so in the morning. THANKS!
