Ignition Wire Harness, Am I looking in the right place?

I am hooking up an alarm and auto start. I have the whole alarm hooked up and working. Now the only problem is finding the right wires for the auto start. I found some information online telling me the wire colors of the ignition wires, this is what I have found:

Starter --> Yellow
Ignition --> Pink
Accessory --> Brown or Orange (I couldn't find a Orange wire)

I went under the driver side dash and I figured the ignition wire were the ones coming out of the base of the steering column in a black rectangular plastic housing. I taped the wires and hooked a millimeter up to them to check them this is what I got:

Ignition 12v - Pink : 2 volts with the key on the ON position (shouldn't it be 12V ??)
Accessory - Brown : 12 volts all the time (shouldn't this be 12 with the key on the ON position)
Starter - Yellow: never probed
Ignition 2 - Orange : Could not find

Since none of these turned out to be what they are suppose to be I am confused. Am I looking at the wrong set of wires??? Where are the wires that lead to the ignition switch??

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
You're very close....go another six inches or so down the column; the ignition switch is on top of the column and has fairly large wires. The two red are 12v constant; the purple one goes to the starter; the orange one is for ACC; the pink is the ignition wire. The smaller diameter wires you won't need to bother with...
Hope this gets you off to a good 'start'
